Rabbi Miryam Wolfson has recently been ordained as a Rabbi and Hazzan (Cantor) from the Aleph Ordination Program, and is delighted to share her love of Jewish prayer and learning. Aleph is the Jewish Renewal Seminary, aiming to infuse our beautiful, deeply rooted tradition with feeling, and meaning for today’s changing world.
She is the Grandchild of immigrants and a former Biology professor. She has three adult daughters, her pride and inspiration, the joy of a new grandchild, and a very supportive spouse
Miryam’s love of life has found inspiration from the treasure box of Jewish text, song, prayer and spirituality. Her focus is threefold: Firstly, to share the healing power of prayer and community to overcome medical and personal challenges. Secondly, to share a practice of gratitude: for the miracles that enable life itself, while striving for social justice. Thirdly, to share a deep appreciation for, and an imperative to protect the gift of Creation. Miryam enjoys crafting original melodies, translations/interpretations of liturgy and inspiring texts. She enjoys baking, birding and bicycling.
